General Tony Zinni joins DC Capital Partners
DC Capital Partners is pleased to announce that General Anthony “Tony” C. Zinni has joined our Board of Advisors. General Zinni, former Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Central Command, is one of our Nation’s most respected military leaders. His distinguished career has taken him to over 70 countries including two tours in Vietnam where he was severely wounded. His numerous assignments have included Commanding General, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Deputy Director of Operations at the U.S. European Command and several Joint Task Force commands.
In addition to his military assignments, General Zinni has served in a number of diplomatic positions including appointments by the President as Special Envoy for the United States to Israel and the Palestinian Authority as well as presidential diplomatic missions to Somalia, Pakistan, Ethiopia and State Department missions involving conflicts in Indonesia and the Philippines.
General Zinni brings extensive experience and relationships in government and the sectors in which we invest. Equally impressive is the business experience he brings to DC Capital and our portfolio companies. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President of DynCorp International, prior to which time he served as President of International Operations for M.I.C. Industries, Inc. He has also served on several boards of directors and advisory boards in areas which include government services, manufacturing, electronics and communications, including but not limited to Raytheon Aerospace (Vertex Aerospace), Integrated Defense Technologies, DynCorp International, McNeil Technologies, and Continental Electronics. He has an undergraduate degree in Economics, a Masters Degree in International Relations, and a Masters Degree in Business, as well as three Honorary Doctorate degrees.
General Zinni is also an accomplished author having written numerous articles, op-ed pieces, co-authored a New York Times Best seller book on his career entitled “Battle Ready” with Tom Clancy, and authored a New York Times Best Seller on foreign policy, “The Battle for Peace”. He remains active in public service and foreign policy debates and has been one of the leading proponents of “Smart Power”, regularly testifying before Congress and providing advice to Presidents, Senators, and Congressmen on both sides of the aisle.
In addition to serving on the DC Capital Board of Advisors, General Zinni will also serve on the Boards of our portfolio companies and consult in strategy and business development. We are pleased and grateful that he has joined our team and look forward to working with him.
